WCRR 2011: PRESENTATION OF THE FOURTH VOLUME OF LUCCHINI RS TECHNICAL SERIES

Monday 23rd May in Lille at 6.45 p.m., during the 9th international congress for railway research, WCRR 2011, in Van Gogh Room at Gran Palais, will be presented the fourth volume of Lucchini RS Technical series titled “Structural reliability assessment of railway axles”. The authors, Eng. Stefano Cantini and Prof. Stefano Beretta, will describe the theme focused on an overview of the last decade of the research, conducted jointly by Lucchini RS and the Milan Polytecnic, on assessing inspection intervals, starting from the basics of fracture mechanics and the mechanical properties of axles, and taking real service loads and non-destructive methods into account. After the topics of reliability and safety in railway products, railway noise and the development and applications for heavy haul service with wheels for freight cars this fourth volume enlarge LRS-TECHNO series confirming the contribute of Lucchini RS Group in technical development of rolling stock.
